I have just returned from Munich where F1 were asked to provide both wired and wireless support for Salesforce.com
Marc Benioff, the CEO of Salesforce.com was addressing delegates attending the DLD Conference and the Handlesblatt conference in the centre of Munich and therefore required both a fast and reliable wired and wireless internet connection. Thankfully we were able to setup for rehearsals the Sunday evening at both venues, this is the best way to ensure there are no issues on the day.
Each venue provided us with 10MB line and from there we used our own equipment to feed off two wired internet lines to the stage (primary and backup) and provide two wireless networks (Again primary and backup). While the keynotes were taking place I was then required to monitor the network to make sure that everything worked perfectly throughout.
The show was a great success for both Salesforce.com and F1.
