This month we have been supporting our client at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The world's greatest technology show kicked off in Las Vegas on January 10th. This amazing show offers many new and exciting insights for the future and showcases what we can expect this year from the industries largest players, Hosted in Vegas CES is:
- 1.8 million square feet
- Equivalent to 37 football fields!
- 153,000 attendees
- 5,000 members of the media
For us CES starts way before the doors open, on the 29th December we were onsite beginning deployment of the network and running infrastructure under carpets. Over the next week and a half we continued to run the networking to the 2nd floor as well as to all the wireless drops.
On January 4th the truck arrived with all our equipment and so we began setup of the network servers, Xbox, Windows, Skype, and Windows 8, including 60 laptops set within a viewing gallery, showcasing the latest generation of Windows PC’s.
During the event we supported over 200 wireless users and many more through hard wired connections.
The booth network was made up of 15 Cisco 3560 switch with 2 Cisco ASA 5550 firewalls running NAT.
We were given a 100Mb internet connection as our primary circuit which was split into a 15Mb, a 25Mb and a 60Mb connection for different areas of the booth.
Our back up, this time was in the form of a 50Mb connection, purely to function as the secondary internet circuit so that should we have to, we can seamlessly failover to this just incase the primary circuit goes down.
This 24000 sq. ft. booth was made possible by the collaboration of F1 with many of our clients vendors and full time employees. We were able to show off a professional and innovative booth to the thousands of people who attended CES this year.
