Howard and I are back in Amsterdam setting up and looking after another set of training classrooms for Asentus.
We have
60 workstations allocated to
3 separate training rooms,
We have upgraded each machine to
16Gb Ram for optimum performance and
configured with Hyper-V, enabling the software required to be situated on various
Virtual Machines according to each course’s specific requirements.
The event is running for a total of three weeks again, with two rooms of 20 machines for the duration and then we’ll be setting up a 3rd additional room for the last week.
We’ve been staying at the Amrath hotel, in the centre of town and across the road from Central
station, which is a lot nicer (albeit a
little creepy and looking like something out of a Hammer Horror film as
you can see in the picture!) and a much better location for us, meaning we can hop on the train to the venue every morning, however one morning we accidentally got on a train going in the opposite direction and then narrowly missing two trains in quick succession this morning! Thankfully we’ve been leaving with plenty of time in case such eventualities should arise!
Howard seems to keep finding bites on him in the mornings, so I think he’s going on the hunt for bed bugs tonight armed with a torch and gaffa tape! Still… we’ve got a free, fully stocked mini bar in the room so it could be worse!
