Wounded Warrior Project

While most of the work we perform is done on location, that does not mean when we’re at our F1 US home base in the Pacific Northwest we spend our time solely talking about the rain weather, foraging for wild mushrooms and exotic lettuces in the nearby forests, or doing blind coffee taste tests (“I sense notes of persimmon, jasmine, and un-showered RPG gamer.”). There are persistently a myriad of tasks to fulfill our obligations to clients and we strive to deliver the best results possible in doing so.

In the last couple weeks a few members of the F1 crew and I have had the pleasure of a deviation from our normal work and in turn, an opportunity to give back. Through the Wounded Warrior Project we prepped 50 Xbox 360 consoles to donate to wounded United States soldiers at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in nearby Fort Lewis, Washington. Rather than just throwing all of the consoles into boxes and pushing them out the door, we updated and tested each console to make sure they were all up to our exacting standards.

While not the most difficult work for us, it was nonetheless among the most rewarding. We sincerely hope the consoles can be a pleasant distraction for them and their families and, in any small way, help them aid in their recovery.
